OK back to my own words now, some things are just so out of place and wrong they take a certain kind of response.
Im now on Isla Mujeres off the coast to see the whale sharks and just got back from the boat trip and snorkellin with them. The photos are not the best but in the water they are amazing, huge creatures with a swarm of smaller fish following and even holding on, I would guess as cleaner fish.
The island itself feels great after Cancun, Im in a little place right on the beach and the prices are actually in pesos not dollars. On the down side its obviously being developed and the beach is lined with half finished blocks.
